In June, 1767, Admiral Louis Antoine de Bougainville anchored in the harbour of Rio de Janeiro. His botantist excitedly collected many new specimens, including a violet climber which he named after the leader of this expedition.
This quiet cozy gem is located on quiet Korcak Street, steps from the Saraya and the Artists’ Colony.
The quaint guest house is set above the Artists’ Quarter close by the Rimonim Hotel. It is two minutes from the Noam Synagogue and a 15-minute walk from the shops and synagogues of the Old City.
You can’t miss this new addition to the Beit Yosef family – just look for the splendid fuchsia bougainvillea and follow a pathway down to a small patio, the perfect spot to sip a coffee and enjoy the serenity of Safed’s magenta skies and fresh air. Walk inside to a small kitchenette complete with a small table that seats three, a niche with a microwave and mini fridge. On your right is a bathroom with a pedestal sink, shower and toilet.
Original art created by local Safed artists adorns the walls of this charming bed and breakfast. Off the kitchen is the first bedroom, decorated in pink and creamy hues. Once belonging of a Swiss castle, the antique wooden sleigh bed is tucked in beneath a large arched window below a whimsical chandelier. This double bed is anointed with handmade pillows of pinks and green. There is a flat screen TV with cable and internet access. Cuddle up with a book in the cozy chair. Adjacent to the bed is a countertop with sink plus a pantry filled with necessities including a toaster, plates, mugs, glasses, wine glasses and cutlery. For Shabbat, there is a hotplate, urn and candles and a tablecloth.
The second bedroom is directly behind. Here two single antique beds are set in an arched room against a mirrored wall. Fun tulip lights hang above the copper colored bedding graced with handmade pillows. There is a large closet with ample storage space and a crib.
Additional Information: All rooms are air conditioned and heated and there is a closet for hanging up clothes. The Bougainvillea is a perfect choice for two adults and two children. There is an extra crib to sleep a baby. Parking is outside. The shops and restaurants of the main street are a ten-minute walk away, while the galleries and synagogues of the Old City are a 15-minute walk away
